Phonic videos - a must read resource!

Here is the link to my you tube page of short clips of me introducing the phonic sound and ASL sign we use in preschool ABC chant.

(look on you tube for kvetonPreschoolpage)

I will update my page on you tube...I just put a sample on the blog - so subscribe to the youtube page or keep it as your favorites to find the videos.

I will post the basic phonic sounds as well as videos of songs we do in class when possible.  I will use just my girls on these posts unless you want your child be be included in the "video shoot."  Then we will make a time after preschool if you wish to include your child in the video clip.

Here is a link to the phonics used for "Spalding phonics."  I am introducing the basic phonics in whole class but will support anyone wanting to do the Spalding phonics individually when we have our "Gimme 5 for Phonics Time" which is one on one with the teacher - me :)

Basic phonics will teach that the "s" says "sss" for example and later introduce less common sounds the "s" makes.  So if you click on a letter, it is the FIRST sound (the most common one) we will be focusing on in preschool at first.  From what I have experienced, Eduprize teaches basic phonics.

Spalding phonics will teach that "s" says "sss" and "zzz" right away.  If you want to teach all sounds right away, please feel free to do so at home and I will do that on an idividual basis at preschool.  From what I understand, Benjamin Franklin, Legacy and ALA teach Spalding phonics.

In general, I have been very pleased with the LeapFrog phonic videos.  They are a great tool for learning for your preschooler.
